Данелию можно понять. Мне вот интересно, директора московских школ опять получат приказ составить списки детей с грузинскими фамилиями? Или с того раза сохранились, невзирая на обычный русский бардак?
Katyaz: Danelia is one of the very best Russian movie directors, he belongs to Russian culture as much as to Georgian one. This must be a great personal tragedy for him and other people like him. The whole development is just awful, and a horrible reaction by a big part of Russian media, including bloggers, makes it even more disturbing. I can only hope that my Russian friends will not be offended but I feel a deep relief (and not just for myself but for all of you too) being separated from all this by an ocean ...

avzel: I must admit that I was also pretty horrified at the comments of the other two people in that article, too -- especially the one right before Danelia. A "peace-keeping action"? Really? Are Russian planes peacefully dropping bombs on evil Georgian towns, too? (He is not denying that there *are* bombs being dropped on Georgian towns, either. Where is he claiming the bombs came from? Thin air? *sigh*) Is he actually *hearing* what he is saying?!
I am feeling very glad to be separated from this by an ocean, as well.
OK, actually, I am only horrified at the second person, not the first. (I think I remember the name of that first one, too -- he's a famous actor, right? His name is very familiar.) But the second person is horrifying enough.
Katya: Yes, Basilashvili is a very good actor, you may remember him from a very good Danelia movie "Autumn marathon." As for the other guy, this is very mild compared to what you can find on Russian LJ these days; but please don't bother looking there.
Вот, по-моему, вполне неглупая статья (хотя и не лишённая некоторой наивности.) Параллель с судетскими немцами - действительно, первое, что приходит в голову. Так что (повторюсь) нас всех это очень даже касается.
Если, не дай бог, и коснется, то мы хоть по правильную сторону оказались, с той бы было уж совсем тоскливо. А важность иметь вменяемого президента возрастает на глазах, на ту сторону надежд не видно (это я вовсе не к тому, чтобы начать обсуждать еще и эту больную тему).

Я не слышал, чтобы с этими списками потом что-нибудь делали. Но сам факт такого распоряжения весьма красноречив.
